While working on the Waypoint Project I was in charge of making the UI/UX design for the Waypoint device. Initially we thought the Waypoint would controlled via a smartphone app, however this changed. Fundamentally the UI/UX interface itself was not affected, but where we imagined it to be on the Waypoint device if it were to be realised changed. Instead of on a screen it would appear on a hologram. The image below explains the change of the UI in the Waypoint device visually. The changes can also been seen in the promotional video advert made by Zoe below.

Preview and screen recording of the UI I designed on Adobe XD; Link: https://xd.adobe.com/view/9cccc167-6781-4dd2-8ce3-80358e9c30ba-c99f/ The centre button at the bottom of the screen of the Waypoint Logo was supposed to be used as a home button, however this was quite difficult to link throughout the different pages.
The UI was still organised like an app would be except it would be a projection instead of being controlled on a smartphone app. The reason we did not decide to make it compatible with a smartphone is because we wanted it to be its own device, and the way the orb was designed already provides the UI functionality well.
