Today we learned about how movie sound effects are made in more detail (foley). We learned about how foley artists recreate sounds from visuals seen on the screen in a booth, using a variety of props and layers of sound to give the film an atmosphere. A notable foley artist named Lawrence Abu Hamdan used prisoners ('earwitnesses') to talk about their experiences there as they were blindfolded, sensing only sound.
I picked 3 different videos myself to add my original sound effects to, as they were varied in terms of the sounds they needed:
Charlie Chaplin Eating Machine Scene (silent film)
The 100 - Wells shooting a wild cat and saving Bellamy's life
The Last Samurai - Ninja fight scene
