British animation followed on from the developments of photography and technology in the early 20th centuries. It was a tool for many creators to entertain, inform and send political messages to their audience in an engaging way. I think it is important to have an insight to the world of animation and how animations have influenced other peoples lives and views.

Animal Farm (1954) - a poltical animated drama film based on the 1945 allegorical novel of the same name by George Orwell. Produced by John Halas and Joy Batchelor, (all voiced by Maurice Denham) it is about farm animals rebelling against their human leader to create a place wherein everyone had their own voice and was equal. 'All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others,' The source of the funding initiating the project, which came from the CIA to further the creation of anti-communist art at the time, although this was not realised by the production team. The novel's message was opposing the views of communism, specifically in the Soviet Union.

Yellow Submarine (1968) - Animated film about The Beatles and their music, directed by animation producer George Dunning, and produced by United Artists and King Features Syndicate. John Lennon said: "I think it's a great movie, it's my favourite Beatle movie. Sean loves it now, all the little children love it." It is still widely regarded as a landmark of animation. The idea of portraying band members/artists as an art form rather than in real life has been developed over time, such as virtual band Gorillaz and Aespa, a K-pop girl band with both human and virtual members.

Watership Down (1978) - 1978 British animated adventure-drama film, written, produced and directed by Martin Rosen and based on the 1972 novel by Richard Adams. The plot follows a rabbit seer named Fiver has an apocalyptic vision that their rabbit warren will cease to exist. Fiver and Hazel along with other rabbits named Bigwig, Blackberry, Pipkin, Dandelion, Silver, and Violet manage to flee.
