Over the course of the Christmas holidays I have been experimenting with a lot of digital art, based off of analogous drawings I made. These works were made before the start of the Memento Project, however I decided to include them, as they are a memento; of how I felt in a tricky relationship. These are very experimental and I played around a lot with the idea of photoshopping real life objects we recognise every day into some of the drawings I make. Recently since I have been on this course I have been getting into using digital media for some of works.

Much of it is inspired by music I listen to, as well as a painful breakup which occurred around a year and a bit ago. Some of the works I made were made solely around lyrical hooks from artists like Fall Out Boy, Royal Blood, Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park - a variety of alternative/indie/punk rock that stemmed from bands like Sex Pistols.

I decided to create a new Instagram art account for this work too under my artist name, futur3persona (https://www.instagram.com/futur3persona/). It is also an account for my music artist page too. The captions below each post explain the artwork I've produced and is essentially me talking about my work, hence why I have not done it on these blog posts.

I posted the first six works (as two separate posts) I made as I was really happy with them, however I was dissatisfied with the last two works which I made for that account. Though I haven't posted them on that account, I kept them on my Macbook and on my iPhone to use as a reference to evaluate what I felt was weak about these works I produced. The works I made were all about someone who I'll refer to as 'Jane' (not her real name) as I feel like it is too personal to mention her real name. She is the same person featured in my sampling project.

Suffocating: This collection of work I created is rather centred around Jane and how she felt. It essentially depicts one of the effects of trauma - her mouth covered as she was unable to speak up. She felt unable to, trapped behind this mask of grief and pain. I wanted her to tell me, tell me everything but she never could.

Lovestruck:I feel as this is quite obvious as to what it represents. Cupid's arrow, shot through a heart which is a reference to Roman mythology; of Cupid's bow and arrow. It represents the idea of being deeply in love with someone. I included the graphics of blood to show the realer aspect of being in love; it can be very painful. In the second slide it is scribbled out, and I left it like that; sometimes one denies their feelings and hide them. Jane certainly did.
